Thea Washington is a casting professional working primarily in television, film , commercials and digital media. Thea is passionate about securing positive images for minorities and women in the media!
Thea’s casting work includes regional casting recruiter for Bachelorette, The Bachelor and Big Brother. Casting Director for several true crime reenactment series for Investigation Discovery, Reelz, BET amongst several national commercials, short films, indie films, etc.
Before casting Thea has worked in marketing in the Music Industry (Sony Music, Universal Music Group) and Beauty Industry (Top brokerage firm in the ethnic/multi-cultural space.She was lead costumer for Smithsonian’s : Interactive Green Book Traveler’s Guide Interactive Exhibit currently in the NMAAHC (National Museum of African American History and Culture), Washington Nationals Campaign and open video, national commercials and campaign ads for clients such as DeBeers, Beats By Dre (Cam Newton, Alexander Ovechkin), Under Armour, Lidl, Hilton Worldwide, Home Depot; styling work has been featured on the covers of Money Magazine’s (Turner/CNN) October cover, the cover of Alternative Press; Vogue Italia, Washington Life, House Beautiful, Washingtonian Mom, Modern Luxury and more!

Cynthia S. Kao, Instructor
Cynthia S. Kao is the sole proprietor of Rebirth Media. From her work in non-profit and government specializing in international development and human services aid, Cynthia contributed to the non-fiction prose scene in Toronto, Canada, her hometown.
She obtained her Bachelor's of Arts at the University of Toronto and a dual Master's of Arts in Documentary Film and History from Syracuse University. Cynthia worked in photojournalism, broadcast journalism, and corporate branding.
Documentary film and video fueled the desire to provide a creative mode of visual storytelling for social change. This is the backbone behind Rebirth Media's projects for corporations, government, NGO's and Faith-Based organizations.
Resilient documentary, Rebirth's documentary on the historical and social construct of Military veterans and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, premiered at the Dragon Dreaming International Film Festival in NSW, Australia on October 25, 2015. The North American debut screened at Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival on March 25, 2016, and upcoming screenings include Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival, April 11-17, 2016, and DisOrient Asian American Film Festival, April 29-May 1, 2016.
